3D-CAD animations
There are times when a three-dimensional drawing of a machine isn't enough to establish that it will work in practice. The problem is compounded when there are lots of moving parts. So engineer Jan de Graaf has turned to making functional moving 3D models using Solid Edge and Solid Works software. "You see more this way than when you simply look at the outermost positions of the various components." Static drawings are sometimes inadequate for the clash test. Sometimes when you are designing a machine or a working method, you need to look at the motions of the different components in a three-dimensional animation.
